Spiderhost Secures SAS 70 Certification

03-02-2010

Certification signifies that Company has had its control objectives and control activities examined and approved by an independent accounting and auditing firm

(February 25, 2010 Orlando, Florida) – Spiderhost, Orlando’s leading IT solutions provider, announced today that it had earned the Statement of Auditing Standard Number 70 (SAS 70) certification for Service Organizations. The SAS 70 certification validates the stability, protections, accessibility, and integrity of the various hosting and data services that Spiderhost provides its clients.
This important certification is specifically for the Company’s data center facilities in Atlanta, Georgia.
In order to achieve the SAS 70 certification, the facility underwent an extensive review of its processes, controls and reporting functions by an independent auditor. The review included an analysis of the physical and environmental controls, organizational structure and security.

“We are pleased that this certification process has been completed and that our data center facility in Atlanta has met and exceeded the requirements laid out by the independent auditors,” stated Dale Frohman, president of Spiderhost. “We understand better than most the critical importance of keeping data security and management processes ahead of the curve. This important step provides our clients with the peace of mind that their information and data is fully protected and secure.”

The SAS 70 certification is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  It represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and control activities, including controls over information technology.  In today's global economy, service organizations or service providers must demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers.  In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting.

The Company’s Atlanta Data Center is one of three important facilities that make up the triple-redundant Tier1 network that Spiderhost offers its clients.
